Voici un grand tapis de tente (tharashna) des Ait Bou Ichaouen, tribu berbère d'éleveurs pastoraux qui occupent les plateaux du grand est du Haut-Atlas. D'architecture ouverte comme tous ses semblables, il est entièrement tissé en laines filées main et affiche de grands losanges concentriques sur un champ qui abrite également des motifs essentiellement losangiques, crucéiformes. Here is a large tent rug (tharashna) from the Ait Bou Ichaouen tribe, sheep breeders living in the High Atlas far east of Morocco. Using an open field architecture, it is entirely made of hand spun/ hand woven wools, with concentrical losanges layed on a field that also hosts mostly losangical and cross shaped smaller motives. Dimensions : ca 410 x 210 cm / 13'8" x 7'.
