Ce tapis blanc provient de l'est du Moyen-Atlas mais n'est pas un Béni Ouaraïn: c'est un tapis des Marmoucha, tribu voisine et installée au sud, sud-ouest du territoire Béni Ouaraïn. Bien évidemment entièrement en laines manuelles, ce tapis est noué au noeud berbère sur des chaînes et trames blanches. De thématique assez classique pour cette origine, il affiche une grillle losangique de petites dimensions qui inclue des motifs répétés sur la largeur; le tout pris entre deux colonnes latérales rapprochables du dessin des cardes. Quelques éléments traditionnels sont librements déposés entre grille et bordures. Période: 3ème quart 20ème - Dimensions: env 250 x 195 cm.

This white berber tribal carpet was woven by Marmucha people and not Beni Ouarain, a neighbouring tribe living just north of them. Entirely made of handspun wools, it is woven using the berber knot over and between white wefts and warps. Its architecture is quite typical of the Marmucha, with a small losangical grid including traditionnal berber motives; this grid is taken in between two vertical borders made of a succession of cards. Some geometrical elements lay freely between grid and borders. Period: 3rd quarter 20th - Dimensions: ca 250 x 195 cm / 100" x 78".
