Voici un très inhabituel tapis berbère provenant de la région d'Azilal sur le flanc nord du Haut-Atlas central. Inhabituel car peu d'entre les tapis d'Azilal offrent pareille surface bleue. Mais tout est possible pour les tapis "domestiques", tapis que les tisseuses créent à leur seul et unique goût. On peut toutefois y retrouver des racines dans le Haouz de Marrakech tout proche, présentes au travers des motifs triangulaires ou vaguement losangiques flottant à la surface du champ. Le bel équilibre pictural de ce tapis peut lui donner une dimension de tableau, libre proposition. Dimensions: env 150x105 cm. Réf: R0420 |
This is quite an unusual berber carpet coming from the Azilal area, on the northern slopes of the central High Atlas; very few of those show such a blue surface. But everything possible with home productions where the weaver may do whatever she likes/wants. One may however distinguish Hauz of Marrakech roots with the presence of those small and uneven triangles and losanges that look like floating over the field.
